Migration Story

In late 2024, I migrated notes from an old note app into a new Quarto-backed archive. The process was a mix of clean-up, categorization, and preservation.

  • Exported notes as markdown where possible
  • Tagged by topic and date
  • Archived what felt outdated, kept what still adds value

What Stayed Valuable

Not everything needed to move. The most useful items were:

  • Short lessons learned from projects
  • Snippets of ideas that still resonate
  • Timeless references and frameworks

The Role of Archives

An archive is not just a dump; it’s a living memory. I revisit it occasionally to:

  • Refresh long-term perspective
  • Reuse past thinking in new contexts
  • Celebrate progress without getting stuck in nostalgia

This migration was an important step in keeping history accessible and making space for new work.
